Most Birthday Hampers & Gifts were a bit clichéd or narrow in their focus. Our solution back at the turn of the century was to make gift hampers and baskets which were specific enough to make a difference, but not so outlandishly personal as to put people off.  These Birthday Gifts had to be better than the staid hamper offerings available online, brighter and more striking than a bouquet of flowers, but above all else we wanted them to be remarkable.  Remarkably good value, good quality and good fun so that in the years to follow they could be improved and made better ideas for our increasingly diverse societies and fragmented friends & family networks.

Basketsgalore started up purely to be a Gift Basket company, hence the name and we had a dream for our Gift Baskets to stand out in the huge gift industry market, to do it better than far longer established hamper companies and as professionals to strive to operate at the pinnacle of creative design through human imagination.  Our primary mission objective was to create Gift Baskets for friends and family, which exceeded your expectations, so with this in mind we thought about our friends and family.  How could we make the sender, namely ourselves smile in terms of what it was we were pack or what we could be ordering.  Then how would the recipient feel about the contents of the gift.  How would we know that it could be received with joy and happiness rather than indifference? 

Applying Popularism to your Birthday Gift- 
Before Science took over, we had to base product selection and offering on what society led us to beleive was popular.   There was no room for the nuances of art and design as we see nowadays with our contemporary ranges.    There was much more of a Product Plus approach to designing Birthday Gifts, which is evident in the Classic range on display here.  We were seeking products that didnt offend, were popular and that so many people said they wanted, across all of the divisions; generational, gender, nationality, ethnicity etc.  

Making Best Selling Birthday Hampers 
We wanted our Birthday Hampers to be Different without being clichéd or undesirable, so product selection by our customers was analysed from Day 1.  It was truly a case of trial and error over several quarters because remember that back in the early days, just because you launched a product, it didnt mean that it would rank.  You didnt have the same sort of customer feedback that you have nowadays with success and failure measure in hours and days.  
We wanted our Birthday range to have a strong Birthday theme rather than be product centric reflections of what people liked to send as a Birthday Gift.  Being Different didn’t stop at different products.  Any sign of appearing cheap or any sense of home-made amateurishness needed to be banished comprehensively.  We would be different because we stood out as professional.  The simplest and most unifying symbol of our position in the industry were our containers, the humble basket with its natural, sustainable characteristics stood head and shoulders above cheaper, paler imitators.
